Recent developments in the application of LED technology have resulted in illumination systems offering increased brightness for fluorescence microscopy.

Following the response to CoolLED’s NEW generation illumination systems from our US users, the company is making further investment in developing its support network and relationships with key suppliers to the microscopy world.

We are very pleased to welcome Luther Hindley to the CoolLED team as NPI Engineer. He will have particular responsibility for supporting the transition of new products from R&D to Manufacturing, as CoolLED continues to grow its product range.

Industry interest in CoolLED’s capabilities was exceptionally high at NIH Research Festival Exhibit last week.

A specialised symposium on the application of advanced imaging in the field of cancer biology was held earlier this month, at the Beatson Institute For Cancer Research in Glasgow.

CoolLED were very happy to support the meeting and would like to congratulate Georgios Kanellos on winning 1st prize for best poster.

One of CoolLED’s key distributors, Abberior Instruments GmbH, has also been successful in winning a Microscopy Today Innovation Award in conjunction with the Max Planck Institute for Ultraparallel RESOLFT Super resolution Microscopy.

Al Shipman of the Royal Liverpool NHS Hospital in the UK commented that he fitted a CoolLED pE-300white solid state LED illumination system after an incident in his lab with a blown mercury bulb.

Due to continuing growth and expansion CoolLED have an exciting opportunity for an electro-mechanically minded Production Engineer to join the team and support the transition of new products from R&D, and through Manufacturing.
