When it comes to good health and well-being across the globe,
the CoolLED Mission captures our aims perfectly:
“To contribute to science by developing illumination systems that enable research and provide the technology to improve people’s lives.”
People are at the heart of CoolLED
Supporting their well-being and developing their careers is key to CoolLED’s success
Every year, the staff all go away together for a staff training day of
team-building, friendship and fun.
Each morning is spent getting to know the company and our colleagues better:
– Understanding our personality DiSC profiles
– Analysing the company values and thinking of ways to implement them in our day-to-day work lives
– Focusing on improving our physical and mental well-being.
We take part in epic team-building challenges with a competitive spirit.
We present the annual Nick Edwards Gold Award – given in honour of the company’s founding member – to one member of the CoolLED team.
– It is voted for by the rest of the staff and is awarded to one person whose committment, ideas, perseverence or support has gone above and beyond and very much deserves to be recognised and rewarded.
Charity Events
We have taken part in many charity events over the years, all to raise money for worthwhile causes around the world.

Dragon Boat Racing
Walking the Test Way 26 mile hike for the Trussel Trust

We have raised over £7000 for various charities since 2016
Staff Well-Being
The way we treat every member of our staff is paramount to our success and is at the forefront of our drive for good health and well-being.
Each individual is treated with respect and dignity and everyone is given opportunities to discuss any issues openly, honestly and candidly.
It is testament to the CoolLED ethos and staff well-being that so many colleagues stay with us for so long.
Recently, two of our staff members celebrated their 10-year anniversary – with others having already surpassed this milestone.
Physical and Mental Health
We provide access to comprehensive private medical insurance to all of our staff; covering medical, dental and optical needs
We have 3 fully-trained mental health first aiders within the company
They are always available should any member of staff need someone to talk to, or would like support with a mental health struggle
We are wholly committed to achieving our Sustainable Development Goals and have given ourselves measurable targets to aim for in the future.
