CoolLED’s Asia Tour: From Korea to Taiwan

Bringing custom LED illumination from 250 nm to 2000 nm to two of Asia’s leading semiconductor events.

This August, the CoolLED OEM Team is heading east for two major semiconductor events, starting in South Korea before travelling on to Taiwan.

Duncan Stacey, our Business Development Manager for Industrial Applications, and Chief Technical Officer Gerard Whoriskey will be meeting semiconductor manufacturers, equipment builders and technology partners from across the region.

They’ll be talking about a part of inspection systems that can sometimes be overlooked, but has a direct effect on what the system can see: the illumination.

ISIG Executive Summit Korea

The first stop is Suwon for the ISIG Executive Summit Korea, which brings together senior figures working across memory, power semiconductors, advanced packaging and next-generation technologies.

As devices and packages become more complex, many of the defects that matter are becoming harder to reach with visible light alone. SWIR illumination can help inspection tools see beneath silicon, but one wavelength band rarely tells the whole story.

A complete view can require illumination across UV, visible, NIR and SWIR, backed by the stability, uniformity and control needed within production equipment.

Duncan and Gerry will be discussing how precisely controlled LED illumination can improve contrast, support faster inspection and help equipment developers create more repeatable optical systems.

SEMICON Taiwan

After Korea, the tour continues to Taipei for SEMICON Taiwan. CoolLED will be exhibiting as part of the UK Pavilion, alongside other British companies working across the semiconductor sector.

With more than 100,000 industry professionals from 65 countries expected, plus over 1,300 exhibitors and 4,300 booths, SEMICON Taiwan offers plenty of opportunities to meet the people designing the next generation of semiconductor equipment.

The CoolLED team will be showing the Amora Series, our configurable OEM illumination platform, and just how far LED technology has moved beyond conventional visible-light sources.

This broad wavelength range supports wafer defect inspection, automated optical inspection, advanced packaging, bump and bond pad inspection, redistribution layer inspection, optical metrology and backside detection.
