Utilising the highly successful pE-100wht  technology,  we have further developed our LED solutions for Transmitted Light Applications.  The pT-100 launches in December 2018 and will be available in 4 variants:

1. Broad white output – pT-100-WHT (formerly known as pE-100wht )
2. Narrow bandwidth at 525nm – pT-100-525
3. Narrow bandwidth at 635nm – pT-100-635
4. Narrow bandwidth at 770nm – pT-100-770

These variants can provide solutions for a range of transmitted imaging techniques including brightfield, darkfield, DIC, Dodt gradient contrast and phase contrast.

Whether you’re looking for a broad white 100W halogen replacement or want to optimise the quality of your images through the use of narrower spectrum wavelengths – the NEW pT-100 can meet your needs.

The pT-100 is a single channel Illumination System for the transmitted port of your microscope and comes in four variants, one broad white output (pT-100-WHT), and three narrower bandwidths (pT-100-525, pT-100-635 and pT-100-770).

A true 100W Halogen replacement.  Samples will appear identical but intensities can be up to five times greater. Laboratories familiar with halogen lamps will find that CoolLED’s broad white gives results which make the move to LEDs simple and obvious due to the many other benefits which LEDs offer.   An additional feature is that the colour temperature remains constant as intensity is increased which makes colour balancing unnecessary.

When adjusting the intensity of the pT-100-WHT, the balance between the colours remains constant so there is no need to make adjustments to the colour balance that is necessary when using halogen.  In addition, the  pT-100-WHT does not produce unwanted light in the UV which makes it a safer product for the user as risk of eye damage is significantly lower.

With the specialised narrower bandwidth solutions, you can eliminate background fluorescence experienced when using a phosphored LED in your transmitted light source, view samples that require deeper penetration, improve contrast and even image using techniques that require infrared light.

Narrow bandwidth at 525nm is optimised for the spectral response of most scientific cameras and reduces background noise from a phosphored LED.

Narrow bandwidth at 635nm provides deeper penetration, excellent for revealing detail in thicker samples.

Narrow bandwidth at 770nm provides deeper sample penetration techniques that require the use of infrared light.

The pT-100 is a compact and simple-to-use LED illumination system for transmitted light applications and comprises a pT-100 LED Light Source, control pod, and power supply.  The user is given instant on/off and intensity control in 1% steps from the manual control pod which can be positioned close at hand.  Remote control is available via a TTL trigger

"Set up very easy and pT-100 Light Source was simple to operate. LEDs gave nice even illumination at 2% power. Higher powers were not necessary due to the brightness of the LED: 2% power with 5 msec or 10 msec exposure. There were no obvious signs of cell stress due to light toxicity over the duration of the 60min or 180min experiments I ran. Overall they are neat, simple to use and very efficient."
