Managing Director at CoolLED, Jim Beacher, has announced he will be stepping down from his role at the end of July.
Jim joined CoolLED in 2006 to spearhead the commercial aspect of an exciting new LED product developed by the Engineering team. He has grown with the business and became Managing Director in 2016.
Reflecting on the news, Jim said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my 17 years at CoolLED, nurturing the organisation from spin-off innovators pioneering a new technology, to who we are today – a well-established and respected market leader in the microscopy industry.”
“Moving onto my next phase of my life, I’m looking forward to spending time with my grandchildren, and enjoying the freedom to travel. I already have a cycling trip in Austria planned.”
“I will certainly miss colleagues and our customers, many of whom have become friends along the way, but I have full confidence that CoolLED will be in safe hands as the organisation expands to bigger and better things.”
Gerry Whoriskey, Technical Director, commented: “Jim was the fourth person to join CoolLED when he came on board. Stepping into the shoes of our late Managing Director, Nick Edwards, was a tough role to fill but he carried on with ambition and commitment to CoolLED and all its staff. He’s been one of a kind in guiding our growing business and our expanding global footprint. I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing Jim all the best for the future.”
CoolLED, along with its parent company Judges Scientific, is in the final stages of recruiting his successor. We will communicate news on CoolLED’s new Managing Director shortly.
