Jo studied Applied Biology at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham. She began her career as a research technician for CRUK at the University of Nottingham. Jo then worked for a spin-out pharmaceutical contract research company, before returning to the University as a Research Assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, where she developed a passion for microscopy.
Since moving into the commercial world, Jo has enjoyed an exciting and successful career in cutting edge light microscopy Sales and Marketing, including widefield fluorescence imaging and analysis, confocal microscopy and quantitative phase imaging, in the microscopy divisions at Leica Microsystems, Olympus UK and Phasefocus. Jo has watched CoolLED grow as a company and is delighted to now be part of the team!
In her free time, Jo enjoys visiting art galleries and design museums, reading, gardening and listening to music.
