Welcome Sean Peng (R&D Engineer) and Geraint Wilde (Product Manager & Key Account Manager)
We’re very pleased to welcome two new faces to the CoolLED team, both bringing a huge amount of experience, curiosity and enthusiasm to their roles. Sean Pang has joined our Core and R&D department, while Geraint Wilde comes on board as our new Product Manager and Key Account Manager.
Sean Pang joins the Core/R&D team
Sean joins CoolLED as an R&D Engineer in our Core Technology team, where he will be working on the design and development of next-generation illumination systems, helping to push the boundaries of what advanced LED illumination can do.
He brings with him more than 10 years of research and engineering experience in optics, spanning a broad range of applications including optical tweezers, remote sensing, semiconductor inspection and optical spectroscopy. This mix of academic depth and practical engineering experience makes him a great fit for the team as we continue to develop innovative illumination technologies for both life sciences and industrial applications.
Outside of work, Sean used to be a keen runner and even completed his first marathon in Texas, alongside enjoying hiking and playing football. These days, he has developed a strong appreciation for museums and the rich architectural landscape of the UK, which suits his curious and observant nature rather well.

Geraint Wilde joins as Product Manager and Key Account Manager
Geraint joins CoolLED as Product Manager and Key Account Manager, covering the Americas while also taking responsibility for the direction and development of CoolLED’s product portfolio.
He began his career in academia, completing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Southampton in 1997, where he investigated damage and repair mechanisms in stroke and, importantly, began working with microscopes. This interest continued through postdoctoral research at the University of Warwick and later at the University of Liverpool, where he worked in a laboratory focused on cutting-edge microscopy techniques.
With a growing passion for microscopy, Geraint moved into the commercial side of the industry, first as a Sales Application Specialist with Leica, gaining exposure to a wide range of life science microscopy technologies and applications. In 2009, he joined Andor Technology as a Confocal Sales Specialist and went on to spend more than 15 years there, moving into Product Management roles and finishing as Senior Product Manager for Microscopy and Life Science Cameras. During this time, he introduced two award-winning confocal solutions to the market, Dragonfly and the BC43 benchtop confocal.
Outside of work, Geraint keeps busy with Welsh folk dancing, gardening, hiking and baking bread, and still finds time to enjoy a good book when he wants to unwind.

We’re delighted to have both Sean and Geraint on board and look forward to the experience, insight and energy they bring to the team. Please join us in giving them both a very warm welcome to CoolLED.
