"We measured resting membrane potential (RMP), spontaneous spiking, light-evoked spike activity (full-field 365 + 460 nm, 3.4 mW/cm2, 3-s duration, CoolLED, pE-4,000, Andover, United Kingdom), and current-evoked spiking while clamping the cell at 0 pA. Current-evoked spiking was measured during stepwise application of 1 s depolarizing current pulses, ranging from 0 to +300 pA in 10 pA increments, with a 2 s inter-stimulus interval. Current was clamped at 0 pA between pulses."
