LEDs are the Future
Tired of sourcing mercury or metal-halide bulbs? Atlantic Imaging specialises in upgrading legacy systems with state-of-the-art CoolLED illumination. A recent Zeiss Axioplan refurbishment swapped an ageing HBO lamp for a CoolLED pE-300white, unlocking brighter, safer fluorescence and automated shutter control while extending the microscope’s lifespan.
Service that Goes the Extra Mile
- Rapid, nationwide support – Located just outside Oxford, Atlantic Imaging can be on-site quickly across the UK and even mainland Europe, minimising downtime for busy labs.
- System Relocation & Calibration – Moving lab? They recently dismantled, transported, re-installed and re-aligned a PerkinElmer UltraVIEW spinning-disk system for the University of Cambridge – complete with deep clean and laser realignment. In June 2025 they flew to Antwerp to revive a PerkinElmer UltraVIEW system whose AOTF failure had knocked out key 514 nm and 561 nm lines. By diagnosing a blown 24 V PSU and replacing it on‑site, the microscope was back imaging the same day – proof of Atlantic Imaging’s problem‑solving prowess.
- Tailored Service Contracts – Annual or ad-hoc visits keep wide-field, confocal and bright-field microscopes in peak condition, backed by a network of specialist engineers.
Growing to Meet Demand
The company’s commitment to hands‑on builds and upgrades recently prompted a move from central Oxford to larger premises at Begbroke Science Park. The extra workshop and demonstration space allows them to assemble and test bigger, more complex systems while remaining just minutes from Oxford’s academic hub.
