Fluorescence imaging is often the mainstay of research microscopes. Thanks to a collaboration between Olympus, Kramer and CoolLED, multi-channel fluorescence with three individually controllable LED wavelengths is now possible on the affordable Olympus CX43 biological microscope to enhance routine pathology and teaching.
Added insights for routine pathology
Broad spectrum fluorescence means assays are no longer limited to the GFP region. Choose the fluorophore best suited to the application, from DAPI to Cy5. Two or three-channel assays can also enhance analysis, without upgrading to a research microscope.
A Simple teaching approach
For educational situations requiring a small, stand-alone microscope, the CX43 can easily be transported between classrooms or taken out to STEM events. It’s an ideal set-up for inspiring the next generation of microscopists with impressive multi-channel fluorescence images!
Controllable fluorescence with the CoolLED pE-300white
Three independently controllable channels cover the excitation bands of fluorophores from DAPI to Cy5. Operation is by a remote manual control pod with instant on/off and irradiance control from 0-100%.
