If you work in a clinical pathology lab, audits can be a busy and stressful time. But if you have a pE-300 Series Illumination System for your fluorescence microscopy setup, the automatic hour counter at least means there is one less instrument to worry about.
Instead of manually logging usage, the pE-300lite (and other pE-300 Series Illumination Systems) automatically record the total time that the LEDs have spent on – and retrieving this information from the Control Pod couldn’t be simpler.
- Press and hold the ‘mode’ button of the control pod for three seconds, until the following screen appears:
2. Give two short duration presses of the ‘mode’ button. The following screen will appear:
3. To return to the main screen, either press and hold the ‘mode’ button for three seconds or wait for ten seconds for the screen to automatically return.
Why is the pE-300lite perfect for pathology?
Pathology and diagnostic laboratory staff often choose the pE-300lite Illumination System to upgrade their old mercury or metal halide microscopy illumination due to its combination of simplicity, affordability and performance. The simple white light LED microscope illumination system offers intense, broad-spectrum illumination for fluorescence microscopy. Spectral coverage is from the UV (DAPI excitation) to the Red region (Cy5 excitation).
This mercury-free alternative is safer and more sustainable than conventional lamp illumination options. It can be installed in seconds and requires a quick once-only adjustment. Operation is equally simple, whilst being more controllable and precise than mercury lamps, with instant on/off operation and irradiance control from 1-100%. Best of all, it is affordable within consumables budgets.
The pE-300lite is part of the popular CoolLED pE-300 Series. For individual control of the three LED channels, high-speed TTL triggering and software integration for more advanced experimental protocols, the pE-300white and pE-300ultra models are the go-to LED microscope lighting choice.
