EMBL presents The European Light Microscopy Initiative (ELMI 2025), taking place 3-6 June in Heidelburg, Germany
Highlights of the 2025 conference will include traditional company workshops, an international line-up of speakers, a comprehensive exhibition, and a dedicated community workshop room where participants can engage directly with experts and peers.
Come and join our fantastic team to learn how our LED Illumination Systems for fluorescence microscopy can take your research to the next level!
We’ll be bringing a range of our LED Illumination Systems with us, from the pE-300ultra and pE-400max (perfect for routine to advanced fluorescence) to the 8-channel pE-800.
Whatever your fluorescence needs, we’ve got you covered.
With a range of TTL connections for lightning fast high speed imaging, broad spectral coverage including DAPI and YFP through to Cy5 and a range of applications thanks to their immense versatility – come and visit our booth at ELMI to find out more!
pE-300 Series
The pE-300 Series is a range of LED Illumination Systems for fluorescence, optogenetics, electrophysiology and high-speed microscopy applications.
It comprises three individual systems, providing a solution that covers a wide range of everyday fluorescence microscopy.
pE-400 Series
The pE-400 Series delivers the most advanced yet cost-effective illumination for routine to advanced fluorescence microscopy applications. Four powerful LEDs offer broad spectral coverage from 365-635 nm for use with fluorophores ranging from DAPI through YFP to Cy5.
pE-800
The arrival of the pE-800 sees LEDs take centre stage as the widefield illumination method of choice. Featuring eight individually controllable LEDs and lightning fast TTL switching; the pE-800 delivers the highest quality data with minimum total cost of ownership.

Things To Do in Heidelberg
Rich with history, and in a spectacular location, Heidelberg is often thought of as Germany’s most beautiful city.
Picturesque almost beyond belief, the German city of Heidelberg has captured the imagination of travellers for centuries. ‘Heidelberg by day – with its surroundings – is the last possibility of the beautiful’, said American novelist Mark Twain, and the city inspired Romantic artists and poets.
Sitting on the Neckar river beneath forested mountainsides and overlooked by a magnificent ruined castle, its spectacular setting makes Heidelberg one of those ‘must-see’ European cities.
Heidelberg Castle (Schloss Heidelberg) perched on a hillside, offers stunning views and a glimpse into the city’s history. Wander through the charming streets, discover hidden courtyards, and admire the architecture of the Old Town (Altstadt). Climb the tower of Church of the Holy Spirit (Heiliggeistkirche) for panoramic views of the Old Town.
Visit the Heidelberg Zoo, which also offers playgrounds and picnic areas, or explore various museums, including the German Pharmacy Museum and the Kurpfälzisches Museum.
Stroll down Heidelberg’s main shopping street (Hauptstrasse) and discover various shops and boutiques – or enjoy the variety of local cuisines, including Heidelberg’s famous wine and beer, at various restaurants and cafes.
About CoolLED
CoolLED specialises in LED microscope lighting and, since our team of four introduced the first commercially available LED microscope light source in 2006, we have led the way in designing and manufacturing cutting edge microscope lighting.
