Tea, coffee and cake – three simple pleasures with the power to bring people together
The first Macmillan Coffee Morning happened back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process.
It was so effective, Macmillan did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, ‘Coffee Morning’ has raised over £290 million for Macmillan.
Here at CoolLED, we wanted to harness that power for a cause that truly matters.
Our Macmillan Coffee Morning was a perfect opportunity to combine our love for coffee with our commitment to making a positive impact in our community.
A Sip of Inspiration
Our canteen was transformed into a cozy haven where the scent of freshly brewed coffee and tea and the aroma of home-made cakes and pastries filled the air.
Colleagues from every department, partners, and friends of CoolLED all gathered with one shared goal; to support Macmillan Cancer Support.
Unity in Action
The funds we raised during our Coffee Morning will be directly donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, an organisation that provides invaluable support to those affected by cancer. Their tireless work in offering emotional, physical, and financial assistance to individuals and families battling this disease is nothing short of remarkable.
To everyone who joined us—whether by savouring a cup of tea, enjoying a slice of cake, or making a generous donation—our sincerest thanks. Your presence and contributions made our event a tremendous success, highlighting the power of community when it comes together for a meaningful cause.
Our participation underscores our belief that small acts of kindness can lead to profound change. Cancer affects us all in some way, and it’s our duty to support those facing this challenge.
So far, we’ve raised over £300 and the total keeps on rising! You can help by donating any amount you can afford by visiting our JustGiving page by clicking the button below.
