This is a very interesting paper that uses LED illumination in all the fluorescence microscopy.  They used both the pE-300 and pE-4000 from CoolLED in some of the experiments to produce beautiful images.

It follows on from the previous work of some of the authors when they created a mouse model for lineage tracing of cells on the periphery of the cornea that migrate towards the centre during development.

Anion-conducting channelrhodopsins with turned spectra and modified kinetics engineered for optogenetic manipulation of behaviour.

This is a superb paper on engineered optogenetic tools that shift wavelengths from the normal excitation wavelengths, which also have stability in vivo and have altered kinetics.
