Integrating the microscope light source into imaging software is the most efficient way to configure complex imaging experiments. We are now pleased to announce that the 8-channel pE-800 Series Illumination Systems (which includes the pE-800 and pE-800fura) is fully supported in the latest release of Evident/Olympus cellSens imaging software – Version 4.1. More information is available in the Summary sheet.
Which Imaging Software programs can the pE-800 Series be controlled in?
The pE-800 Series Illumination Systems are integrated into several imaging software platforms, including Nikon NIS Elements, Hamamatsu HCImage and Inscoper. Please see the Imaging Software Table for the full list, summary sheets, quick start guides (and some programs also have video tutorial guides).
What other control options are possible?
For the majority of software programs where the pE-800 Series is not yet integrated, the USB to TTL trigger boxes (pE-6501-8 for the pE-800 or pE-6501-8FR for the pE-800fura) offer seamless control. In addition, the LightBridge graphical user interface (GUI) provides comprehensive control of the pE-800 Series independently of imaging software platforms.
About the pE-800 Series
The popular pE-800 Series includes two highly sophisticated yet easy-to-use LED microscope light sources, which feature:
- 8 LED channels which can be individually controlled
- Industry-leading < 7 µs TTL switching
- Host of advanced control options for high-speed imaging and low phototoxicity
The pE-800 is a versatile Illumination System designed for everyday fluorescence, with the eight LEDs covering a spectrum of 365 – 740 nm which is ideal for fluorophores ranging from DAPI to Cy7.
Ideal for labs using calcium imaging techniques, the pE-800fura calcium imaging light source features eight LEDs covering 340 – 635 nm for exciting Fura-2 to Cy5. This comprehensive system has application beyond calcium imaging, and also suits pH monitoring, ratiometric fluorescence, optogenetics, FRET and everyday fluorescence experiments.
