In addition to breaking down price barriers for broad spectrum LED microscopy illumination by launching the pE-300lite and pE-300ultra, and doubling the intensity at the microscope sample plane in our entire pE-300 Series, CoolLED are still innovating and pushing boundaries in the field of microscopy illumination.
As a result of our collaboration with the University of Strathclyde, we are excited to be launching the pE-340fura, a bespoke LED Illumination System for Fura-2 ratiometric calcium imaging, in September 2017.
Testing throughout the development process has shown real gains can be achieved by switching to LED illumination for Fura-2 imaging. This has been acknowledged by the wider community with Peter Tinning of University of Strathclyde winning the “best poster” award at the recent Photonex Conference for his poster entitled “A 340/380 nm Light Emitting Diode Illuminator For Fura-2 AM Ratiometric Ca2+ Imaging Of Live Cells With Better Than 5 nM Precision.”
