Optical Filters

CoolLED recommends that excitation filters are used with its LED excitation products.  Although LEDs produce a narrowband of excitation, there can be a small "tail" of excitation to shorter and longer wavelengths which may be undesirable for some applications.

Typically, if you have existing filters, these can be used with your CoolLED system.  We are happy to discuss this with you and provide our recommendations to assist you to achieve the best LED wavelength - filter combination.

The tables below provide information on commercially available filters - and filter sets - matched to CoolLED's range of LED excitation wavelengths. These are regularly updated as new LED wavelengths become available.  By clicking on a selected filter, the link will take you through to the suppliers website where you can view spectral details of the filter.

Multiband Filter sets

1. Full multiband sets. Three piece set consisting of dual band excitation, emission and dichroic mirror.
2. Pinkel sets. Four piece set consisting of 2 separate single band excitation filters and single dual band emission filter and dichroic mirror.
3. Sedat sets. Five piece sets consisting of 2 separate single bandpass excitation filters, 2 separate single bandpass emission filters and a single dual band dichroic mirror.
