Breakout Box
The Breakout Box is a simple connection box which allows you to control the CoolLED pE-1 or pE-2 illumination systems using TTL signals. These signals are common to and from cameras, control boxes and PC interface cards. The time from an input signal going high to LED at full intensity is 300 microseconds.
The Breakout Box connects to the 15-way connector on the back of the pE-1 and pE-2. The signals are brought to BNC coaxial connectors which can be used with standard BNC to BNC cables.
Five of the six BNC connectors are inputs. Four of these inputs are dedicated to controlling each of the pE system's channels: high for On and low for Off. The fifth input allows more complex edge-defined triggering and multiple channel triggering.
The sixth BNC connector is an output that may be used to control other equipment: for example a camera, a pE-100 transmitted light source, or for stepping through a procedure.
If intensity control is also desired, this is available through the USB or TCP/IP connections on the pE-1 or pE-2.
