Clinical Screening

Clinical Screening using fluorescence microscopy is popular in many laboratories such as Pathology, Histopathology, Microbiology, Immunology, Cytology, Histology, Virology, Molecular Biology and Haematology.

Typical tests are for fungal mycelium, Anti-nuclear Antibodies (ANCA), Trichomonas vaginalis, acid fast bacilli (AFBs), RSV, para-influenza and tuberculosis (TB).

Most  fluorescence screening uses popular fluorescent stains (fluorophores) such as Auramine, Acridine Orange, Calcofluor White,  Fluorescein Isothiocyanate (FITC) and GFP.   

CoolLED's pE-100 has been specifically developed to meet the needs of Clinical Screening.  It offers many advantages over your existing illumination source and removes all the disadvantages.  LED illumination will replace conventional incandescent and discharge lamps over the coming years.

The pE-100 is perfect for Clinical Screening using fluorescence microscopy because CoolLED can provide LED excitation matched to your fluorescent stains and microscope filter set(s).  In most cases, a single LED wavelength is all that is required for illumination for your tests.
