Clinical applications requiring fluorescence of fixed samples are typically less demanding than those of the high-end research of Live Cells.  The most common example is for the fluorescence of DAPI, FITC and Rhodamine.

These standard fluorophores are less likely to be changed and a CoolLED unit with a fixed Dichroic Mirror is suitable.  In these cases, the benefits of convenience, low running costs and long lifetime without having to replace and re-aligning bulbs is highly attractive.
